Der Saxophonist, Komponist und Arrangeur Andreas Pompe studierte von 2001 bis 2005 bei Jürgen Seefelder und Johannes Enders an der Musikhochschule in Mannheim sowie von 2006 bis 2008 bei Claudius Valk an der Musikhochschule in Köln, wo er 2008 mit dem Konzertexamen abschloss.

Von 1996 bis 2000 spielte er im Jugendjazzorchester Baden-Württemberg unter der Leitung von Bernd Konrad.

Beim Landeswettbewerb "Jugend jazzt" Baden-Württemberg erhielt er 1996 mit seiner Band "Les Pompiers" den 3. Preis.

Seit 2004 leitet er die Bigband der Universität Darmstadt.

Als Solist und Sideman führte ihn seine rege Konzerttätigkeit u.a. durch Belgien, Bulgarien, England, Frankreich, Italien, Kambodscha, Laos, Malaysia, Niederlande, Österreich, Polen, Schweiz, Singapur, Tansania, Ungarn und ins Saarland.
